(KPL) The Government of the Lao PDR on February 20 issued a statement opposing external blockades and unilateral coercive measures, saying they undermine international law and harm civilian populations.
The statement, delivered by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said such measures obstruct socio-economic development in targeted countries and contradict the principles of the United Nations Charter, including sovereign equality, freedom of trade, and international navigation.
The Lao PDR reaffirmed its support for resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly over the years and called for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial embargo against Cuba, as well as the immediate cessation of all unilateral coercive measures.
