President Thongloun, who is also serving as General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), urged LFND leaders to uphold and exemplify the organization’s core values—"strengthen unity, uphold virtue, and cultivate morality"—while improving its roles and operational mechanisms to meet current needs.
He emphasized the need for Party committees and relevant authorities to strengthen guidance, create favorable conditions for the LFND’s work, and collaborate with ministries, local administrations, and civil society organizations to implement Party and state policies, combat social ills, consolidate grassroots political stability, and advance rural development and poverty reduction.
President Thongloun also underscored the importance of encouraging the Lao people to boost commercial production, adopt progressive livelihoods, promote environmental protection, and contribute to socio-economic development.
The anniversary event, chaired by LFND President Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun, was attended by senior Party and government leaders, veteran revolutionaries, and other dignitaries. In his address, Mr. Sinlavong reviewed the LFND’s 75-year history, highlighting its achievements in supporting the Party and State.
Under the Party’s reform policy, the LFND has adapted its functions to meet evolving political demands, playing a pivotal role in safeguarding revolutionary achievements, consolidating the people’s democratic regime, ensuring political stability, and fostering national unity. The organization has also been instrumental in promoting patriotism, and solidarity among ethnic groups, religious communities and overseas Lao.
