Contemporary Art 2025 Exhibition Opens in Vientiane, Showcasing Lao-Korean Artistic Exchange

(KPL) The "Contemporary Art 2025" exhibition, featuring works by Lao and Korean artists, officially opened on August 12 at the National Academy of Fine Arts Gallery in Vientiane.

The event was jointly organized by the National Institute of Fine Arts (Ministry of Culture and Tourism) and the Artistic Asia Association.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Khamsouk Keovongsay, Director of the National Academy of Fine Arts; Jung Yung Soo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Laos; Mr. Lee Sang-su, President of the Artistic Asia Association; as well as artists, educators, and distinguished guests from both countries.

In his remarks, Mr. Khamsouk Keovongsay highlighted the Academy's role in arts education, cultural preservation, and promoting technical exchanges. "This exhibition, now in its fourth edition, strengthens the artistic dialogue between Laos and Korea," he said.

The exhibition features outstanding artworks by eight Lao and twelve Korean artists, presenting unique perspectives on the cultures, traditions, and daily life of both countries.

The event will remain open to the public until August 17, 2025, and will include a technical exchange workshop between Lao and Korean artists to further strengthen cross-cultural collaboration in the arts.
