(KPL) The Lao Front for National Development (LFND) held a gathering at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane on Aug 13 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding.

The event was chaired by Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun, President of the LFND, and attended by President Thongloun Sisoulith, who is also Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, along with senior Party and government leaders and veteran revolutionaries.

In his address, Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun reflected on the LFND’s 75-year history, highlighting its achievements over the past seven and half decades.

He noted that under the Party’s comprehensive reform policy, the LFND has adapted its role and working methods to meet the political demands.

Over the past years, the LFND has contributed significantly to the joint achievements of the Party, State, and people. It has helped safeguard the gains of the revolution, consolidate the people’s democratic regime, ensure political stability and social order, and strengthen national development. The LFND has also played a key role in fostering revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and loyalty to the new regime, as well as promoting unity among ethnic groups, religions, and Lao communities abroad.

Additionally, it has advanced people’s diplomacy in line with Party and government policy.

On this occasion, President Thongloun praised the LFND’s contributions and urged it to continue promoting national unity, preserving the fine traditions of the LFND.

President Thongloun called on the organisation to remain close to the people, serve as a driving force for solidarity and harmony, mobilise all sectors of society to participate in protecting and developing the country, and foster a spirit of independence, self-reliance, and responsibility for the nation’s destiny.

He emphasised that the unity among the Lao people must be safeguarded and no force should be allowed to undermine or destroy it.
