On June 20, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane met with Mr. Alexander Kremer, Country Director of the World Bank in Laos, to bid him farewell as he concludes his four-year term in the Lao PDR.

(KPL) On June 20, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane met with Mr. Alexander Kremer, Country Director of the World Bank in Laos, to bid him farewell as he concludes his four-year term in the Lao PDR.
During the meeting, the Minister thanked Mr. Kremer for his valuable contributions and praised the strong cooperation between Laos and the World Bank. He noted that Mr. Kremer’s efforts helped secure and implement more than 10 major development projects, such as:
The Southeast Asian Economic Corridor for Connectivity (SEARECC) Project
The Local Highway Improvement Project for Climate Resilience
The Pollution and Waste Management Project
These projects played a key role in supporting the Lao government’s 9th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan.
Mr. Kremer expressed his gratitude for the support from the Lao government and people during his time in Laos. He also shared his hopes that the new World Bank Country Director will receive continued support and cooperation.
Minister Thongsavanh welcomed the incoming Country Director and expressed hope for ongoing World Bank support for Laos’ future development goals, especially those under the 10th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan. He also wished Mr. Kremer success in his future endeavors.
