Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone sent on Saturday a message of sympathy to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, President of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of Myanmar, regarding the earthquake that struck the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 28 March 2025.
(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone sent on Saturday a message of sympathy to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, President of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of Myanmar, regarding the earthquake that struck the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 28 March 2025.
The message read: "I was deeply saddened to learn of the earthquake that struck the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 28 March 2025, causing loss of life and property damage to the people of Myanmar.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and on my behalf, I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you, the Government, and the people of Myanmar, especially to the families of the victims affected by this disaster."
The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the Myanmar government, the people of Myanmar will overcome the hardships and swiftly restore the affected areas to normalcy.
On the same occasion, Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane also sent a message of sympathy to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, U Than Swe.
