Their discussions centered on advancing the bonds of friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

Both leaders praised the success of existing bilateral mechanisms and outlined strategies to deepen collaboration in the years ahead, emphasizing sustainability and mutual benefit. They reaffirmed their commitment to building upon the accomplishments of 2024, including the significant visit by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Laos at the start of 2025. During that visit, both leaders co-chaired the 47th meeting of the Laos-Vietnam Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, which was marked by substantial progress.

The talks in Dubai symbolized the official launch of Laos-Vietnam cooperation for 2025, with a renewed focus on addressing key areas more effectively than in previous years. Priorities include enhancing national security and stability, fostering economic collaboration, and strengthening infrastructure connectivity between the two countries.

To ensure the success of their initiatives, both sides agreed that the respective foreign ministries and the Laos-Vietnam and Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committees will continue to monitor and promote the implementation of agreements from the 47th meeting. Particular emphasis will be placed on economic cooperation, ensuring tangible and inclusive benefits for the people of both nations.

Additionally, the leaders underscored the importance of preserving and promoting the unique and historic Laos-Vietnam relationship. Efforts will focus on increasing public understanding of the deep ties between the two nations through joint campaigns that highlight their enduring friendship, unity, and comprehensive cooperation.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Sonexay extended warm greetings and best wishes to Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, as well as the Party, government, and people of Vietnam, on the occasion of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet). He expressed hope for another meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart in the near future.
