Laos, Cambodia further strengthen cooperation

The visit underscores the deep and enduring ties between the two neighboring countries, fostering stronger bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
During his visit, Mr. Hun Sen and his Lao counterpart Xaysomphone Phomvihane, along with their respective delegations, held official discussions at the National Assembly in Vientiane.
The meeting focused on reviewing past cooperation, exploring future collaboration, and exchanging views on regional and international matters of mutual interest.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Laos and Cambodia.
Mr Xaysomphone Phomvihane highly praised Hun Sen’s first official visit to Laos as President of the Cambodian Senate and acknowledged Cambodia’s remarkable achievements in political stability, economic growth, improved living standards, and increased regional and international influence.
Mr. Hun Sen expressed his pride in making this visit, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the cooperative relationship between Cambodia and Laos, particularly in legislative affairs.
He reiterated the shared commitment to deepening mutual trust and expanding bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
As part of his official visit, Mr. Hun Sen laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldiers' Monument in Vientiane and attended an official welcoming ceremony hosted by Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane at the National Assembly, also in Vientiane.
The visit marks a significant step in enhancing Laos-Cambodia relations, demonstrating both nations’ dedication to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
