KPL Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has emphasized the need for continued improvements in media operations to ensure more effective communication of the Party’s policies, and state regulations.

(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has emphasized the need for continued improvements in media operations to ensure more effective communication of the Party’s policies, and state regulations.
His remarks came at the conclusion of the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Information, Culture, and Tourism sector, held at the National Cultural Hall, Vientiane from Jan 5-7, 2025. 
The Prime Minister urged the media to act as a key instrument in fostering public awareness of and participation in the national protection and development cause. 
He stressed that press institutions must serve as sharp weapons against destructive forces attempting to undermine national stability through misinformation, disinformation, and false narratives targeting the Party’s leadership.
In his address, PM Siphandone underscored the necessity of strengthening political ideology and revolutionary ethics among media personnel. 
He urged journalists and media professionals to deepen their understanding of Party policies and legal frameworks while upholding patriotism, loyalty, and professional integrity. 

Additionally, he called on the press sector to align news and media content with the priorities of the Party and state, ensuring that information remains engaging and accessible to the public through diverse formats.
Recognizing the dynamic nature of the media landscape, PM Sonexay encouraged the modernization of media technologies, advocating for a transition from analog to digital systems in line with national development plans. 
He also emphasized the importance of promoting cultural values, reinforcing national identity, and enhancing public awareness by preserving fine traditional customs.
Furthermore, he stressed the significance of protecting cultural heritage, promoting literature and the arts, and integrating cultural intelligence into creative works. 
He highlighted the necessity of fostering a diverse and vibrant cultural landscape while ensuring the effective management and preservation of national heritage.
The 2024 National Annual Meeting of the Information, Culture, and Tourism sector served as a key platform for reviewing the sector's performance over the past months and setting targets for 2025.
