Lao Digital Week 2025: A Landmark Event for Digital Transformation in Lao PDR

KPL The Ministry of Technology and Communications is set to host Lao Digital Week 2025, an event scheduled to take place from April 2–6, 2025, at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane. Under the theme, “Building Resilience and Sustainable Digital Infrastructure for Lao PDR,” the event aims to foster digital transformation, promote the digital economy, and advance technological innovation across sectors.

(KPL)The Ministry of Technology and Communications is set to host Lao Digital Week 2025, an event scheduled to take place from April 2–6, 2025, at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane. Under the theme, “Building Resilience and Sustainable Digital Infrastructure for Lao PDR,” the event aims to foster digital transformation, promote the digital economy, and advance technological innovation across sectors.

A press conference took place on February 14 in Vientiane. Minister of Technology and Communications, Mr. Boviengkham Vongdara, highlighted that Lao Digital Week 2025 will commemorate three significant national milestones:70th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao PDR and 105th anniversary of the birth of the late President Kaysone Phomvihane

The event will serve as a platform to showcase and select outstanding Lao ICT and digital products for international competitions, such as the ASEAN ICT Award 2025. It will also contribute to implementing the 9th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2021–2025) and national digital strategies.

Lao Digital Week 2025 will feature over 100 exhibition booths, displaying cutting-edge technological innovations from domestic and international startups, as well as research and development achievements in information technology, telecommunications, and communications.

The event will include High-Level Forum: Ministry leaders will discuss digital transformation, connectivity, and sectoral collaboration to improve services for the public and stakeholders. Seminars and Workshops: Covering topics such as government digital transformation, digital economy integration, Industry 4.0, AI, Blockchain, Big Data, Cloud Computing, IoT, and workforce development for the digital era. Competitions and Innovation Showcases: Featuring the Lao ICT Awards 2025, a cybersecurity competition, a robotics competition, startup pitches, and other innovation contests. Investment and Networking Opportunities: Providing a platform for government representatives, international organizations, research institutions, universities, developers, and industry experts to engage in discussions and partnerships.

Lao Digital Week 2025 will be supported by various stakeholders and sponsors, categorized into four levels: Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Sponsors and exhibitors will receive booth space, media exposure, and special event privileges. Government agencies and educational institutions will be granted free exhibition space.

The Ministry of Technology and Communications extends an open invitation to ministries, government agencies, international organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs, and the general public to take part in Lao Digital Week 2025. Participants will have the opportunity to promote and showcase their innovations on a national and international stage.
