(KPL) That Luang festival 2023 is scheduled on Nov 23-27 with many activities will take place at That Luang square, Director of Vientiane Information, Culture and Tourism Division, Ms Vilayvone Chanthalaty told at the press conference on Nov 11.

Ms Vilayvone said that the purpose of this event is to preserve and promote the culture and traditions of the Lao people as well as the people in Vientiane.

Committees and sub-committees are preparing for the festival to ensure public security and the orderly progression of the event, the provision of bus services, traffic organization and preparations for Visit Laos Year 2024.

The inner courtyard of the That Luang stupa is the center of worship and the place where the most reverent ceremonies will take place.

The various activities of That Luang festival will take place in Vientiane, including the trade fair selling handicrafts, industrial goods and general household goods made in Laos and other countries throughout the five-day festival.

The That Luang festival is one of the most important religious festivals in Laos, which was observed by people from all over the country. The main religious activities will include the traditional wax castle procession and almsgiving.
