(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone of the Lao PDR warmly received on Friday Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Cambodia during his official visit to Laos from April 30 to May 3, 2025.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sonexay expressed his delight at the visit and commended the Cambodian minister and his delegation for their efforts to enhance cooperation between the two nations.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in agricultural production, investment, and trade, which will further solidify the long-standing friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Laos and Cambodia.
The Prime Minister praised the growing bilateral relations, noting the frequent exchanges between leaders of both countries, which have contributed to deepening mutual understanding and cooperation across various sectors.
In return, the Cambodian minister expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by Prime Minister Sonexay and Lao officials.
He provided an update on the outcomes of discussions between the two ministries, particularly in implementing previously agreed-upon Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
Key areas of focus included knowledge-sharing and experience in farming cooperatives and commercial rice production, encouraging private investment in agriculture, enhancing cross-border agricultural trade, and sustainable freshwater aquaculture and wildlife conservation, with special attention to endangered Mekong species such as freshwater dolphins.
