(KPL) Chinese Charge d' Affaires to Laos, Mr Wang Chang to Laos hosted a reception party to celebrate the 74th anniversary of China’s National Day in Vientiane on Wednesday, Sep 27.

General Chansamone Chanyalath, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Mr Kikeo Khaykhamphithoun, Deputy Prime Minister, representatives of foreign diplomatic corps and relevant officials attended the event.

“Over the past 70 years, the Communist Party of China has united and led the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country to rise up to difficulties to forge ahead, strive to move forward with perseverance, achieving tremendous development of the economy and society of China,” said Wang Chang.

“Currently, the value of Chinese investment in Laos has reached USD 3.55 billion US dollars, the value of investment Chinese enterprises in Laos has reached USD 15.49 billion US dollars, which includes 803 projects and is ranked number 1 in foreign investment in Laos,” he went on.

Laos and China have achieved great success in the implementation of the Laos-China railway project and the Vientiane-Vangvieng expressway project as part of its “Belt and Road Initiative” and "Building a common humanity of the people of China", which is in line with the policy of the Lao PDR to transform a landlocked country into a land link connected to the region and the world. It is opening of a new era of cooperation in trade, transportation, and communication between the people of the Laos and China and neighboring countries to get convenience and grow gradually.
