(KPL) News sources from Xaisomboun Province reported that on the morning of August 27, 2025, flash flooding struck Nam Phang Village and Sibunheung Village in Thathom District following several days of continuous heavy rainfall.

The downpours caused the Nam Phang and Nam San rivers to rise and overflow their banks, inundating many houses and submerging sections of local roads.

Authorities said details of the damage are still being assessed and will be reported later.

Officials have issued a warning to residents of all ethnic groups, local administrative authorities, and organizations in low-lying areas and along riverbanks to remain vigilant. Communities are urged to stay prepared for potential landslides, flash floods, river flooding, and urban flooding due to the persistent heavy rainfall.

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has advised the public to closely follow weather forecasts and updates.
