KPL The 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting officially opened today in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea (ROK), bringing together heads of state and government from 21 Asia-Pacific economies. Representing nearly 40% of the global population and over 60% of the world’s GDP, the forum stands as one of the most influential platforms for regional and global economic cooperation.

Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate and Prosper,” the two-day summit—running from October 31 to November 1—aims to address mounting global challenges, including economic uncertainty, supply-chain disruptions, and the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI).

Participants are expected to deliberate on strategies to strengthen free and fair trade, advance digital transformation and AI governance, accelerate clean energy transitions, enhance food security, and promote inclusive and resilient growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
