(KPL) The 24th Lao Handicraft Skills Festival 2025 will be held from October 22–26, 2025, at the Traditional Lao Silk Residence in Vientiane Capital, according to a press conference held on October 9, 2025.

The event was announced by Ms. Souvita Paseuth, President of the Lao Handicraft Association and Head of the Festival’s Organizing Committee, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI).

This year’s festival will be held under the slogan “Crafts Are the Heart of Tourism” and the theme “Weaving-Tying Love, Conserving the Tradition of Marriage.”

The festival aims to celebrate National Handicraft Day on November 1 and contribute to activities marking the 50th Anniversary of the Lao PDR. It also provides a platform for artisans to showcase and sell their products, exchange experiences, and promote Lao traditional crafts.

The event will feature more than 130 stalls exhibiting textiles, jewelry, basketry, cultural products, and traditional foods. Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations, exhibitions, seminars, and cultural performances, including Lao Phakhwan and Lao Lamvong competitions.

A highlight will be the walking procession celebrating National Handicraft Day on October 25, starting from Patuxay Monument to the festival venue. A fashion show featuring traditional wedding and ethnic costumes will be held on October 27 at the Landmark Hotel.

The Lao Handicraft Festival receives broad support from public and private sectors, as well as international organizations, and continues to serve as an important platform for preserving and promoting the nation’s rich craft heritage.
