New Leadership Appointed to Propaganda and Training Committee

(KPL) The Personnel Department of the Propaganda and Training Committee (PT Committee) of the Party Central Committee held a ceremony on February 3, 2025, to announce the appointment of a new Deputy Head of the PT Committee.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Khamphan Pheuyyavong, Member of the Politburo, Head of the Propaganda and Training Committee, and President of the Central Theoretical Council. Participants included members of the Party Executive Committee, deputy heads of the PT Committee, representatives from the Central Organizing Committee, and heads of relevant departments.

At the ceremony, Ms. Kanlaya Sengkeovongphachanh, Deputy Head of the Personnel Management Department of the Central Organizing Committee, read the official decisions issued by the Party leadership. The Politburo decided to transfer Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, Member of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Secretary of the Savannakhet Provincial Party Committee, to take up duties at the Propaganda and Training Committee. The Secretariat of the Party Central Committee subsequently appointed him as Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Training Committee of the Party Central Committee.

On this occasion, Mr. Khamphan Pheuyyavong emphasized that propaganda and training work plays a crucial role in the Party and the State. He noted that the central leadership’s decision to strengthen the leadership of the Propaganda and Training Committee aims to enhance guidance of specialized work in both the short and long term, promote modernization in both quality and quantity, and improve overall effectiveness.

He expressed confidence that Mr. Phoxay’s experience and capabilities would contribute to practical and concrete results, and called on the leadership and staff of the Propaganda and Training Committee to provide full support and cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of assigned tasks.
