Champasak Governor Directs Flood Preparations in Pakse

KPL On September 22, 2024, Champasak Governor Alounxay Sounalath led efforts to prepare for potential flooding in Pakse as water levels in the Mekong and Sedone rivers reached critical levels. The governor, along with provincial leaders, Lao People's Army soldiers, and local residents, worked to build a dyke and install a mobile water pump in the Houay Ban Gae area to drain water from flooded zones.

(KPL) On September 22, 2024, Champasak Governor Alounxay Sounalath led efforts to prepare for potential flooding in Pakse as water levels in the Mekong and Sedone rivers reached critical levels. The governor, along with provincial leaders, Lao People's Army soldiers, and local residents, worked to build a dyke and install a mobile water pump in the Houay Ban Gae area to drain water from flooded zones.

Governor Alounxay also inspected high-risk areas, including Houay Poon and Tha Hin Nua villages, to coordinate timely flood prevention measures.
