Singapore Delivers Aid to Lao PDR for Yagi Relief Efforts

KPL The first of two the Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 flights, delivering humanitarian supplies including blankets, hygiene kits, water filters and meal packs for flood victims of Typhoon Yagi in the Lao PDR, landed in Vientiane today. The supplies were contributed by the Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore Red Cross and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre), among others.

(KPL) The first of two the Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 flights, delivering humanitarian supplies including blankets, hygiene kits, water filters and meal packs for flood victims of Typhoon Yagi in the Lao PDR, landed in Vientiane today.

The supplies were contributed by the Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore Red Cross and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre), among others. 

Ambassador Sudesh Maniar handed over the supplies to Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Leepao Yang at Wattay International Airport.

Also present were Col. Low Pay Kng from Singapore's Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (Changi RHCC), Dr Chanthanom Maniphip from Lao Red Cross, and representatives from the AHA Centre. 

“Singapore stands in solidarity with the people of Lao PDR as they recover from the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi. We hope that the supplies will be useful and contribute towards a swift return to normalcy for the affected communities in the Lao PDR,” said Singapore Ambassador to Lao PDR, Mr Sudesh Maniar. We thank all partners who coordinated closely to ensure a smooth operation, including our servicemen and servicewomen from the Changi RHCC, as well as our friends from the Lao Red Cross Society.”
