(KPL) The government yesterday, 8 July, announced a cabinet reshuffle at the ongoing ordinary session of the National Assembly in Vientiane Capital.
Governor of Bokeo Province, Mr Khammanh Sounvileuth, has been appointed as the Minister of Home Affairs to replace Mr Xaysy Santivong who will serve a new post.
The Governor of Luang Prabang province, Mr Khampheng Saysompheng, has been appointed to serve as the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, replacing Ms Onechanh Thammavong who will retire.

(KPL) The government yesterday, 8 July, announced a cabinet reshuffle at the ongoing ordinary session of the National Assembly in Vientiane Capital.
Governor of Bokeo Province, Mr Khammanh Sounvileuth, has been appointed as the Minister of Home Affairs to replace Mr Xaysy Santivong who will serve a new post.
The Governor of Luang Prabang province, Mr Khampheng Saysompheng, has been appointed to serve as the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, replacing Ms Onechanh Thammavong who will retire.
The announcement of the government also included the appointment of the Governor of Vientiane Province, Mr Khammeung Phongthady, as the Minister and Head of the President's Office, replacing Mr Phongsavath Boupha who will retire, and the Minister to the Government Office, Mr Sommad Pholsena, as new Minister of Natural Resources and Environment succeeding Mr Noulinh Sinbandit who will retire.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mr Phet Phomphiphak was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, replacing Mr Vilayvanh Phomkhe who will retire.
The appointment of Dr Phet as the minister took place shortly after he was elected Party Secretary of the ministry at its Fifth Congress which was held in Vientiane last week.
The ordinary session of the National Assembly yesterday witnessed the appointment of the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr Khammany Inthirath, as a Minister, replacing Mr Soulivong Daravong who will retire.
Mr Khammany was elected as the Party Secretary of the ministry earlier this year at the 2nd Party Congress of the ministry held in Vientiane.
Acting Minister of Public Security Brig. Gen. Somkeo Silavong has been appointed as new minister of the ministry.
The Deputy Prime Minister Mr Somsavat Lengsavad who proposed the list of the newly appointed people to the members of the National Assembly in the presence of the President of the Assembly Pany Yathortou assured that all appointed cabinet members met all requirements of political values, knowledge, capacity and experience.
