Vientiane Governor, Mr Khammeung Phongthady revealed this month that provincial infrastructure is being constructed and more local farmers have converted their farms to raise animals, thus improving people’s livelihoods.
“The economic development in Vientiane Province has been growing constantly,” he added.

Vientiane Governor, Mr Khammeung Phongthady revealed this month that provincial infrastructure is being constructed and more local farmers have converted their farms to raise animals, thus improving people’s livelihoods.
“The economic development in Vientiane Province has been growing constantly,” he added.
The majority of investment projects consist of road construction projects, a new provincial administrative bureau, and two new roads linking Hinheub district to Sankham and Kasy–Maed districts, which are nearing completion.
The development of businesses and services are to follow the provincial determined plan. Agriculture production has been emerging as “One District, One Product” (ODOP) and currently, four ODOPs have been approved.
Thoulakhom district has so far supported market-oriented agriculture production in its farming approach.
Mr Khammeung added that additionally, 99% of children are enrolled in schools, 83% of the population has gained access to clean water and the number of poor families has decreased to only 1.83% of the total families in province.
