Eastern Star Schools Student Win Bronze Medal in Genius Olympiad

KPL (KPL) Two studentsfrom the Eastern Star Schools, Sengsonephet Vongdara and Phontham Visapra won bronze medals in the fine art category at the recent Genius Olympiad 2017 held in New York.

(KPL) Two students from the Eastern Star Schools, Sengsonephet Vongdara and Phontham Visapra won bronze medals in the fine art category at the recent Genius Olympiad 2017 held in New York.

Genius Olympiad is an international high school competition hosting a project in five general disciplines with an environmental focus. It is founded and organized by Terra Science and Education and hosted by the State University of New York at Oswego.

Eastern Star Schools was the only Lao school joining the Genius Olympiad 2017. The school is committed to give students education of international standards.

This is just one of the many competitions Eastern Star School has joined to expose students to world-class education.

“I am very proud of winning this bronze medal, which has raised the reputation of our country internationally. I, representing friends and teachers have expressed thanks to the leaders of State, Party, teachers and the host country, as well as our parents for enabling us to participate in such a competition for giving us instruction and teaching,” said Mr Sengsonephet.

At the 7th Genius Olympiad competition, 1200 competitors from 73 different countries received an opportunity to display their projects.The event lasted from June 13 to 16. 

Eastern Star School students also participated in science, visual and arts performance, writing and robotics categories.
