(KPL) The torch relay for the 12th National Games, to be hosted by Vientiane Capital from 15 to 25 November 2025, was held on 3 November in Pak Ngum District.
The event was attended by Mr Phouvong Vongkhamxao, Vice Governor of Vientiane Capital and Vice President of the National Organising Committee, together with Major General Paenkham Boutchanpheng, Party Secretary of Bokeo Province, and Mr Bounlay Boutthi, Party Secretary of Xekong Province.
Mr Phouvong said the torch relay demonstrated unity among national and provincial leaders, officials, students, and citizens in preparing to host the Games successfully.
The ceremony, the seventh stage of the relay, began at Ban Phao Secondary School. Mr Phouvong led the first 200 metres before passing the torch to Major General Paenkham and Mr Bounlay, who carried it in turn. The torch was then presented by Mr Khammoun Tiengthalad, Party Secretary of Pak Ngum District, to the Organising Committee.
The next relay will take place in Xaythany District on 7 November, marking the eighth leg of the procession.
