KPL The 2025 That Luang Festival and Annual Trade Fair will take place from November 1–5, featuring diverse cultural, religious, and entertainment activities that highlight the fine traditions and heritage of the Lao people.

According to Ms. Viengphone Keokounsy, Head of the Vientiane Capital Department of Culture and Tourism, the five-day festival will open on November 1 at 4:30 PM, with daily programs blending Buddhist rituals and folk traditions.

Held under the theme “Lao Visit Laos,” this year’s festival aims to preserve Lao culture and promote sustainable tourism. The entrance gate and surrounding areas will be beautifully decorated with traditional instruments, lanterns, and lights, while nightly cultural performances will celebrate the 465th Anniversary of Vientiane Capital.

The Trade Fair will feature about 2,370 booths at That Luang Square and the Lao-ITECC Exhibition Center, showcasing ODOP products, local food, model products, tourism innovations, and items from friendly countries.

The event also celebrates three historic occasions: the 70th Anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the 50th Anniversary of National Day (Dec 2), and the 105th Anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane.

To ensure safety and order, the organizing committee has banned activities such as water balloon throwing, duck neck grabbing, and “girl falling into water” games.
