(KPL) On the afternoon of December 26, a special inspection train departed from Boten Station on the Laos-China Railway and travelled north to Kunming, China, according to China Radio International (CRI).

This marked the successful completion of the first major inspection of the Laos-China Railway, which had been ongoing for four months.

The inspection’s completion provides crucial assurance for passenger transport operations during the upcoming 2025 Chinese New Year celebration.

Since September, railway authorities from Laos and China have closely collaborated on detailed inspection plans. China supplied five heavy-duty machines and deployed over 200 experts, while Laos contributed more than 60 specialists and two large maintenance machines.

Railway personnel from both countries conducted thorough inspections of the main and branch lines of the Laos-China Railway to ensure its safety and operational efficiency.

This comprehensive effort guarantees that the railway will operate smoothly and safely, supporting seamless travel during the holiday peak.
