Deputy Prime Minister Monitors Flood Situation in Vientiane

KPL On the morning of September 14, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Gen. Vilay Lakhamfong, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Public Security, visited flood-affected areas in Vientiane to assess the current situation.

(KPL) On the morning of September 14, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Gen. Vilay Lakhamfong, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Public Security, visited flood-affected areas in Vientiane to assess the current situation.

The Deputy Prime Minister focused on monitoring water levels in key locations, including Port KM 4 in Ban Phanman, Sisattanak District, and Ban Dankham, Sikhottabong District.

During the visit, he presented relief aid consisting of 200 million kip in cash, 400 packs of drinking water, and 400 packages of dry food to frontline personnel working to mitigate the impact of the floods. The aid was received by Mr. Adsapangthong Siphandone, Mayor of Vientiane.

The visit also aimed to encourage public participation in flood prevention efforts across the capital.
