(KPL) The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Laos with the support of the Russian Embassy in Laos organized a screening of the film "Challenge" directed by Klim Shipenko in the cinema hall of the Vientiane Center on May 8.

The event was attended by Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Suansavan Vinyaket, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Laos Vladimir Kalinin, Head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Laos Alexander Radkov, Director of the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism Khampao Vannavong and other officials. More than 300 people gathered for the film.

“This is the world's first full-length feature film, scenes for which were filmed in space at a distance of 400 km from Earth by professional film makers. Filming in orbit lasted for two weeks and the film premiered on World Cosmonautics Day, the 62nd anniversary of the first manned space flight by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 2023. «Challenge» is another step in human exploration of outer space. The film's budget was more than 1 billion rubles,” said Head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Laos Alexander Radkov.

Events of such format will definitely further strengthen our bilateral ties in the humanitarian and cultural spheres.
