(KPL) Vice President of State Inspection Authority Mr Vilayvanh Bouthdakham presented amendments to the Anti-corruption Law at the ongoing 7th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly today following debates by lawmakers on how this law will benefit the country.

This law will be a legal tool to better regulate and prevent corruption, protect honest people, tackle social ills in line with the current period of national socio-economic development as well as other legal instruments and the country’s trend of regional and international integration, according to NA Vice President Vilayvanh Bouthdakham.

The amended draft law is the first set of rules to have been presented for approval at the ongoing 7th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly. Lawmakers are expected to discuss 12 more laws over the next two weeks. These include two new draft laws and 10 amended draft laws.

Once approved by the National Assembly, the revision will replace the current law on corruption which has been used since 2012.
