The final full-dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the 12th National Games was held on the evening of 13 November at the National Sports Complex KM16, ahead of the official launch on 15 November.
The event was attended by Vice President Pany Yathotou; Vientiane Mayor Athsaphangthong Siphandone, who chairs the Games Organizing Committee; Vice Minister of Education and Sports Kignmano Phomahaxay; along with members of the organising committees, trainers, sector officials, security forces and media representatives.
The rehearsal featured the full programme, including mass performances, choral presentations, athlete parades from various sectors, the torch relay and cauldron-lighting ceremonies, and oath-taking by officials and athletes. Cultural performances included the “Welcome to Vientiane Games” opening dance, “Rowing Boat Cheering,” “Sports for a Strong Body,” traditional circle dances, and the Lamvong Lao Basalob. The run-through concluded with a fireworks display.
Organisers said the rehearsal aimed to ensure a unified, polished and visually impressive presentation for the opening ceremony, which will be witnessed by spectators in the stadium and by viewers across the country via live television broadcast.
