KPL The Lao-China Railway Company has announced a temporary suspension of all passenger train services on September 30, 2025, as Typhoon Bualoi is forecast to impact northern Laos over the coming days.

According to the company, the decision comes in response to severe weather conditions expected between September 28 and 30, when the typhoon is predicted to pass through the region. The storm is likely to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall along the entire railway route, increasing the risk of landslides, flash floods, flooding, fallen trees, and other hazards.

The railway operator stated that the suspension is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers, staff, and infrastructure, as extreme weather poses significant operational risks.

Passengers who have purchased tickets for the affected date may cancel or reschedule their journey at no additional cost. Refunds and ticket changes can be processed through the LCR Ticket online system or at any station ticket office. Those unable to act immediately can still request a full refund within 30 days from the travel date printed on their ticket.

The company urged the public to monitor official channels for further updates and thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation.
