(KPL) More than 50 domestic and foreign journalists from the Asia-Pacific and Eurasia regions and the China Global Television Network (CGTN), led by Mr. Jambu Zhang, head of the China International Press Communication Centre (CIPCC), launched “China Up Close Tianjin Tour”, a finally trip of the CIPCC 2025 Study-Exchange Programmes.

The visit was warmly welcomed and facilitated by the relevant officials of the city, especially from the Information Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government.

With over 600 years of history, Tianjin boasts a unique cultural identity, seamlessly merging its rich heritage with modern development. Today, it stands as a prosperous, civilized, and beautifully modern metropolis, where tradition thrives alongside progress. The city actively preserves its cultural legacy through lion dance performances and Peking opera shows at the Tianjin Opera Museum, fine arts, paper-cutting, engraving, and calligraphy exhibitions as well as Yihetang martial arts demonstrations, showcasing China’s powerful warrior traditions.

This dynamic blend of past and present makes Tianjin a captivating destination for visitors. Upon arrival on June 18, our correspondent team began with a visit to Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, a place with a unique identity that showcases the lifestyle, the style of Qing dynasty buildings, local handicrafts and delicious food with the city's signature flavours, for sale in shops on both sides of the street for visitors to eat or taste.

It has become one of Tianjin's must-see destinations, followed by the Tianjin Port Impression site, which is another point where our reporters experienced the atmosphere inside the exhibition hall, which includes a variety of unique and outstanding products to serve tourists, especially wine products with good taste and quality, as well as a visit to the exhibition hall of traditional Chinese medicine health care products Darentang Healthy Life Hall and Clay Figurine Zhang's Gallery.

“Tianjin Port Impression has been renovated and upgraded to attract the city's cultural tourism with a deep interconnection between culture, tourism and commerce, so that visitors have the opportunity to experience and explore souvenirs or special products for them, as well as learn and harvest the successful experience of Tianjin Port and enjoy an in-depth cultural experience. Tianjin Port Impression is a commercial product exhibition hall, as well as the history and achievements of the project.

It is also part of the Tianjin Port Company's Port Industry Linkage Project, which has officially opened its operation at the city's Old Cultural Street, which is a 5A National Tourist Site”.

On the evening of June 18 on the same day, the press corps had a boat ride to experience the atmosphere and see the harmonious beauty of the bridges across the river at various points and the majestic and modernly designed high-rise buildings located along the banks of the Haihe River, as well as listen to the history of the significance of the river, as well as the upgrading projects along both sides of the river, which are the city's symbols, to make them more beautiful and outstanding.
