(KPL/Prensa Latina) Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for preparedness for a possible outbreak of a global trade war this year.
“The global and regional situation is evolving in a very unpredictable manner, directly affecting our country, especially exports, production, business, and the macroeconomy,” he warned during the regular government meeting for January 2025.
The official required attendees to analyze closely February´s forecast and in the coming period, especially emerging issues such as the possibility of a global trade war, which, if it occurs, will disrupt supply chains and reduce export markets.
“From there, we must propose solutions to be able to react quickly, without being passive or being surprised, without losing opportunities, and to maintain the momentum, pace, and existing spirit to continue developing,” the Prime Minister said.
According to the government’s digital newspaper, the Prime Minister suggested continuing to focus on renewing traditional growth drivers promoting new ones, and expanding and diversifying markets, especially in the Middle East and South America.
Minh Chin also stressed the need to work decisively to eliminate institutional bottlenecks, so he requested that ministers and heads of sectors report monthly on legal problems in their respective fields, also they should indicate the difficulties, where they are located, and who will solve them so that the Government can propose them to the relevant authorities for consideration and decision.
The Prime Minister also urged to continue to move forward with the implementation of Resolution 18 of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on streamlining the organizational apparatus, and to do so without interrupting the work.
