(KPL) On February 5, in Vientiane, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone received a courtesy call from the Roundtable Meeting delegation, led by Minister of Planning and Investment Phet Phomphiphak.
Welcoming the delegation, Prime Minister Sonexay emphasized the significance of the meeting for Laos, noting that it provides an important opportunity to review progress on the implementation of the 9th Five-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2024, outline directions for 2025, and discuss the draft 10th Five-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026-2030).
The meeting also covered a report on Laos' progress in preparing for graduation from least developed country status, as well as the outcomes of the Lao delegation’s participation in the Summit of the Future at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA.
Discussions further addressed consultations within the dialogue group on resolving economic, financial, and human resource development challenges in Laos.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed cooperation for development, including the results of the fourth round of the Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation Survey and an assessment of the implementation of the Vientiane Declaration on Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation.
Despite the challenges Laos faces, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the continued commitment of friendly nations and development partners in supporting the Lao government in implementing its national socio-economic development plans, contributing to improved prospects for the country's progress.
