KPL On December 13, 2024, a media delegation from Vientiane joined their fellow journalists from Hongsa and Ngeun districts for a study visit to the Hongsa Thermal Power Plant in Hongsa district, Xayaboury Province.

 

(KPL) On December 13, 2024, a media delegation from Vientiane joined their fellow journalists from Hongsa and Ngeun districts for a study visit to the Hongsa Thermal Power Plant in Hongsa district, Xayaboury Province.

The purpose of the visit was to observe various operational aspects of the Hongsa Power Company Limited, including power plant operations and modern mining technologies that ensure efficient management while adhering to measures aimed at balancing energy production and environmental protection.

Additionally, journalists learned about the company’s use of electric vehicles (EVs) in its operations and its role in social development.

The company was highlighted as a model in promoting sustainable communities across multiple dimensions, including education, living standards, and participation in cultural and traditional activities.

These efforts align with the company’s strong commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies to set a positive example for both Lao society and international stakeholders.

Furthermore, the company emphasized human resource development by enhancing staff capabilities through continuous training and capacity-building programmes. On the environmental management front, Hongsa Power Company Limited adheres strictly to its commitments under key agreements, ensuring close monitoring and compliance.

The company has received international certification for environmental standards, including ISO 14001:2015, underscoring its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The media delegation participating in this field visit was welcomed by Mr. Manote Chinchainam, Manager of Corporate Affairs, Hongsa Power Co., along with relevant officials of the company.
