(KPL) President Thongloun Sisoulith welcomed Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and his delegation in Vientiane on December 17.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui's visit aimed to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relations between Laos and Vietnam.
During their talks, President Thongloun extended warm greetings and congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Bui on the successful outcome of the 11th Laos-Vietnam Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs meeting.
He acknowledged that the meeting had played a significant role in enhancing cooperation, mutual understanding, and partnerships between the two nations, particularly in the areas of politics, economics, and people-to-people exchanges. He also highlighted the substantial progress achieved in bilateral relations.
Both sides centered on the continued implementation of agreements and documents signed to promote sustainable development and regional cooperation. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bond of friendship and the special relationship between the Lao and Vietnamese peoples. They also focused on enhancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
President Thongloun expressed deep gratitude for Vietnam's ongoing support, emphasizing the importance of the close friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
