(KPL) The Party Committee and administration of Feuang District, along with Party members, soldiers, police, and people of all ethnic groups in Feuang District, Vientiane Province, held a ceremony to enshrine the bronze statue of President Kaysone Phomvihane at the newly constructed memorial hall.
The event took place on December 13 to commemorate the 104th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane and the 49th anniversary of National Day (Dec 2, 1975-2024). The memorial hall will serve as a site for paying respects, offering reverence, and pledging commitments during significant national and Party ceremonies.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag and a salute to it. Following this, an honorary guard paraded the statue of President Kaysone Phomvihane around the flagpole three times before proceeding to its final enshrinement at the new memorial hall.
The procession was led by Khamphanh Sitthidampha, Governor of Vientiane Province, and Khamphanh Chansomphou, Governor of Feuang District, accompanied by various groups of officials and residents. The ceremony also included offerings of floral baskets at the statue, almsgiving to monks, chanting of blessings, and presenting ten sets of offerings and other religious items.
The new memorial hall is expected to become a place for future generations to honor President Kaysone Phomvihane, reinforce their loyalty to the Party, and recognize his outstanding contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause.
