(KPL/Prensa Latina) Donations from China to this region support the food security policy, a key issue on Cuba's government agenda today.

The Family Attention System, designed by Cuba, benefited by the help of the Asian nation, as corroborated by the Minister of Domestic Trade Betsy Díaz, who was touring Camagüey, the largest Cuban province.

Cooking equipment was delivered to more than 6,700 people, who are currently prioritized by this system in the territory.

The Facebook page of the Directorate of Domestic Trade in Camagüey added that the donation also includes ‘pitchers, glasses, flat and deep plates, bowls for broths, vacuum flasks for storing food, pans with lids and 15-liter buckets’.

The publication adds that ‘these centers, as well as those throughout the country, will be able to offer a better service to the vulnerable people who are assisted there’.

During his visit to Camagüey, Diaz also checked the progress of the distribution of the products of the standardized food basket and its operation, in addition to visiting several private and state establishments to exchange and contribute with criteria for a better operation.

Cuba, which constantly faces several obstacles to deal with food and commercialization of different products for the population, due to the effects of the US economic blockade, has support, programs that also include mutual collaboration, from allies such as China.
