KPL President Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Party Central Committee, has called on inspection agencies at all levels to strengthen the quality, methods, and effectiveness of their work to ensure greater accountability and reinforce the fight against corruption.

Speaking at the Fifth National Inspection Work Conference held last weekend under the theme "Strengthening comprehensive and rigorous monitoring and inspection, resolutely combating and addressing corruption with transparency and modernity for sustainable national development," the President said inspection agencies must continue pursuing unresolved cases until they are fully concluded and ensure that violations are handled in accordance with the law.
He said inspections should identify and promote good practices while also uncovering weaknesses, legal violations, and misconduct that undermine public interests and people's rights. Those responsible for wrongdoing must be identified, the causes thoroughly investigated, and appropriate legal action taken. He stressed that inspections should have "no prohibited zones and no exceptions."
President Thongloun instructed inspection authorities to submit clear recommendations alongside inspection findings and ensure timely follow-up. Cases involving disciplinary violations should be handled without delay, while criminal cases should be referred to the People's Prosecutor for prosecution and pursued through to final court rulings and enforcement.
He also called for the resolution of long-pending cases, noting that delays at both prosecutorial and judicial levels weaken public confidence in the rule of law.
The President urged authorities to continue improving legislation related to inspection, anti-corruption, and governance, while strengthening public awareness through broader dissemination of laws and inspection outcomes. He said the ultimate goal is to foster a culture in which officials "dare not, cannot, and do not want to engage in corruption."
He further stressed that inspection agencies must uphold integrity and impartiality, warning that they must never become places where "wrong is turned into right." Honest and capable officials should be protected and promoted, while those who abuse their authority or violate discipline must be dealt with firmly.
