Lao Food Festival 2020, opportunity to taste traditional cuisines

KPL A large number of Lao, foreign visitors as well as Vientiane residents are expected to attend Lao Food Festival 2020 to be held at Chao Anouvong Park, Vientiane Capital, on Jan 28-31.

(KPL)A large number of Lao, foreign visitors as well as Vientiane residents are expected to attend Lao Food Festival 2020 to be held at Chao Anouvong Park, Vientiane Capital, on Jan 28-31.

During the four-day event, there will be a cooking competition participated by chefs from northern, central and southern regions of the country.

A lucky draw will be also held on the sidelines of the festival by Interplast to grant burned and scald patients and patients of low income families opportunities to receive free-of-charge correctional surgeries.

In addition, there will be free health check-up service by medical professionals from Lao Inter Clinic.

The four-day Lao Food Festival 2020 aims to promote female entrepreneurs in areas of food, agriculture, services and provide them opportunities to present and sell their products.

This event will also encourage the exchange of experiences, skills with respect to culinary and hospitality industries.

Around 190 shops and foreign embassies, especially from ASEAN countries, are expected to take part in the coming festival.

A press conference concerning organizing this event was held on Dec 24 at Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and organized by Business Women Association. 

The press conference saw the presence of Ms Chanthachone Vongxay, Chairwoman of the Business Women Association, Ms Sylikith Boupha, Vice President of the Lao Women Union, Vice President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives of media.
