(KPL) Lao Premier League 2016 will kick off on March 26 and run through June 26 2016. Competitions will take place in seven stadiums across the country.
The Secretary General of the Lao Football Federation, Mr Saybandith Lasaphone made the statement at a press conference held at the Vientiane Center Shopping Mall in Vientiane Capital on 16 March.
He said that the competition has drawn 14 teams including Lao Toyota FC, Lanexang United, Young Elephant FC, Lao Police FC, IDSEA Champasack United, Eastern Star FC, EZRA FC, EDL FC, Savan United, Army FC, NUOL FC, CSC Champa FC, VSV United and Xaythany City FC. Eight of the teams were already established and six of them are new.
On 26 March, the first two matches will be held starting at 16:00. Eastern Star FC will play IDSEA Champasack United at the National Sport Complex at Km 16 in Vientiane Capital, and the Army FC will play the NUoL FC at the Army Stadium at Km 5. Also on the 26th, Lanexang United will compete against the Lao Police FC at 18:00 at the Lanexang Stadium.
On 27 March, Lao Toyota FC will meet CSC Champa FC at 17:00 at the Chao Anouvong Stadium. At the National Sport Complex at Km 16 the Young Elephant FC will play Xaythany City FC at 15:30, and EZRA FC will play VSV United at 18:00. At the Lanexang Stadium, EDL FC will take on Savan United at 18:00.
The Lao Premier League will play every weekend on Saturday and Sunday and games will be broadcasted on the TV Lao channel.
