(KPL) A handover ceremony for a new pre-primary classroom and groundwater system was held on Sept 2, 2025, at Nongmek Primary School, Khamkeuth district, Borikhamxay Province.
The facilities were officially handed over by Moe Kurosaki, chairwoman of the Japanese idol girl group (I-Ris), and received by Phasouk Choummalavong, Acting Deputy Governor of Khamkeuth district. The event was also attended by the deputy head of the district Education and Sports Office, the director of Nongmek Primary School, teachers, and students.
According to Bounpaseuth Yongnengvang, project coordinator from the Khamkeuth district Education and Sports Office, the project was supported by I-Ris at a total cost of over 263 million kip.
The project comprised two components: the construction of a groundwater system with storage tanks at a cost of 70.26 million kip, and the building of one pre-primary classroom measuring 8 by 9 meters, valued at over 193 million kip.
The new classroom and water facilities are expected to improve the learning environment for local children and improve access to safe water at the school.
