(KPL) On the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Malaysia, the foreign ministers of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia held a working breakfast to enhance trilateral cooperation among the three neighboring countries.

The meeting, hosted by Lao Foreign Minister Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, was attended by Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Bui Thanh Son and Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mr. Prak Sokhonn. The discussion took place on July 9 during the ASEAN meetings held from July 8–11, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur.

The three ministers praised the enduring friendship and solidarity among the Indochinese countries, noting the steady development of traditional trilateral cooperation. They reviewed the outcomes of recent high-level meetings — including the trilateral summits held in Vietnam in February and in Malaysia in May 2025 — and discussed ways to translate those results into practical achievements.

They agreed to strengthen coordination in supporting their respective leaders and to urge relevant ministries and agencies to advance joint initiatives in national defense, security, economic integration, tourism, and information exchange. The ministers also pledged mutual support in regional and international affairs.

In closing, the ministers expressed gratitude for the continued cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the friendly ties between their countries and their foreign ministries. They emphasized the importance of maintaining this close partnership for the benefit of the peoples of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
