KPL On April 21, 2025, Mr. Phayvy Siboualipha, Minister of Justice of Laos, welcomed in Vientiane Mr. Kula Segaran, Malaysia's Deputy Minister for Law and Institutional Reform, during an official visit to further bilateral legal cooperation.

(KPL) On April 21, 2025, Mr. Phayvy Siboualipha, Minister of Justice of Laos, welcomed in Vientiane Mr. Kula Segaran, Malaysia's Deputy Minister for Law and Institutional Reform, during an official visit to further bilateral legal cooperation.

Minister Siboualipha extended congratulations on Malaysia's 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship under the theme "Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN: Demonstrating Unity for Regional Resilience", reaffirming Laos' commitment to supporting Malaysia's priorities in enhancing regional legal frameworks and sustainable justice initiatives. 

The Lao Justice Minister highlighted his ministry's key functions, with special emphasis on the Economic Dispute Resolution Center's growing role in commercial arbitration.

In response, Deputy Minister Segaran formally invited the Lao minister to participate in both the 2025 ASEAN Law Ministers Meeting and the endorsement of the Joint Declaration on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) development.
