Laos, China discuss on trade cooperation ties

KPL (KPL) Minister of Industry and Commerce of Laos, Mr. Malaithong Kommasith met Governor of Yunnan Province, China, Wang Yubo to disuses on trade cooperation in Vientiane on Feb 26.

(KPL) Minister of Industry and Commerce of Laos, Mr. Malaithong Kommasith met Governor of Yunnan Province, China, Wang Yubo to disuses on trade cooperation in Vientiane on Feb 26.

The two sides have discussed promoting trade cooperation between Laos and Yunnan Province, trade situations, facilitating the transportation of goods via Laos-China Railway, tourism and human resources development.

 Minister of Industry and Commerce has expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government as well as Yunnan Province for their cooperation and support to Laos as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos.

Yunnan Province has promoted the bilateral trade, and give special rights 98% of products exported from Laos to China, help upgrading knowledge of commercial officers, provided assistance in materials, vehicles, etc.

In Addition, the Yunnan Commerce Department and the Ministry of Commerce of China have helped support the recovery of cattle exports from Laos to China and achieve the initial goal and the two sides must also help each other on continue to implement the project.

He also expressed appreciation to Yunnan province, which is an important force of trade and economic cooperation between Laos and Yunnan to help Laos transform into a modern industry.

Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce are focusing on preparations in various aspects to prepare for the ASEAN in 2024.

So, we proposed to the China to support technical assistance, to create a strategic plan for the development and management of electronic commerce and managing e-commerce and support for creating video conference rooms as well as systems and complete service equipment and so on.
