(KPL) The hand-over of the technical equipment project for the Lao National Radio between Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Lao PDR took place in Vientiane on Jan 30.
The handover ceremony witnessed the presence of Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Phosy Keomanivong, Deputy Director General of Voice of Vietnam Tran Minh Hung, and representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy to Laos and the Lao National Radio.
“The equipment replacement and technical upgrade project for the Lao National Radio is in line with the guidance of the Party and government on media publicity, information publication for public need which aims to raise the media sector to a new height of quality in line with the five-year development plan of the Information, Culture and Tourism sector for the 2021-2025 period, especially the Media Development Strategy 2025: make the Lao media have new quality and fully digitalized ensuring information is accessible in every parts of the country,” said Deputy Minister Phosy Keomanivong.
The Deputy Minister also expressed thanks to all parties involved in the successful implementation of the project and called on the beneficiary, Lao National Radio to take a good care of the equipment and facilities and use them to their full capacity.
“This project has been funded with grant support of 198 billion VND from the Vietnamese government. It is a large project and of high value in the Information, Culture and Tourism sector, and for the Lao National Radio, in particular. It is the upgrading of the Lao National Radio’s broadcasting of information through its old and new media platforms so that LNR can catch up with countries in the region and the world, contributing significantly to the popularization of the policy of the Party and the government in the country and abroad,” said Mr. Suvanh Vilaiseng, Director General of Lao National Radio.
