(KPL/Prensa Latina) Cuba currently promotes its safe and natural destination at China's major professional tourism fair, which this year brings together some 5,000 commercial buyers from this nation.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Elizabeth Vela, an advisor at the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in China, gave other details about Cuba’s participation in the China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM 2023).

With more than 450 exhibitors from 70 different countries, this is the industry’s leading platform, the only 100 percent business-to-business event focused on the outbound market exclusively, the MINTUR advisor stressed.

According to Vela, this fair is an opportunity to present tourist products to a privileged audience ready to invest.

Cuba’s participation is focused on promoting its safety features and connection with nature, aspects that will be of great interest to Chinese travelers who prefer safe destinations and easy access in terms of visas, she explained.

Cuba’s Prime Minister Manuel Marrero recently told Chinese tour operators and tourism professionals his country’s attractions that make it a destination of choice.

During an exchange forum at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Beijing, Marrero stressed that despite the difficult economic situation due to the effects of the US blockade and the Covid-19 pandemic, Cuba is a cheerful country that continues its development.
