KPL (KPL) The monthly government meeting for January has approved a draft decree on Vocational Education Development Fund, a draft decree on human resource development, and other key documents.

(KPL) The monthly government meeting for January has approved a draft decree on Vocational Education Development Fund, a draft decree on human resource development, and other key documents.

Draft decrees on penalties and actions against violators of rules on standardization and metrology, and a draft decree on duty free zones and duty free shops were also approved and considered at the meeting.

Held on Feb 6-7, the monthly government meeting for January was chaired by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and attended by Deputy Prime Ministers and members of the government, according to the Deputy Minister and Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Thipphakone Chanthavongsa.

As for February, priority will continue to be given to addressing macro economic difficulties improving living conditions of people with a focus placed on revenue collection, exploring new sources of revenues, modernizing revenue collection and state spending management in all sectors.

Participants of the meeting noted that priority will also continue to be given to implementing government regulations on state revenue leakage management and prevention, promoting thriftiness and anti-extravagant lifestyles and the management of exchange rates, goods prices, and inflation; developing tourism-related services and infrastructure, especially roads accessing tourist destinations and improving the quality of custormer service and good transport of the Laos-China railway; and making comprehensive preparation for the official visit of Cambodia Prime Minister.
