(KPL) Google has brought net users a street view experience of Vientiane and some other parts of provinces in the Lao PDR.
Street view images are available at www.google.la/maps. They were shot with a car mounted 360 degree camera. With 360 degree images, net users can explore parts of Vientiane by pointing their cursor in the direction they want to look and left clicking.
Google, in cooperation with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, launched the Google street view project in Laos in July of last year with the aim of creating new ways for people around the world to experience Laos, and by doing so, help create better awareness of the country and attract more visitors.

The Street View project currently covers 56 countries worldwide. In Asia, that includes cities as well as tourist spots like Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and the Taj Mahal, and other monuments in India, according to The Next Web, one of the world’s largest online publications.
Google officially launched Google Maps in Laos in 2012, and in 2013 was able to incorporate the Lao font thanks to support from the Lao Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. The Ministry has been very helpful in assisting Google launch Street View in Laos, according to Work Live Laos.
It would allow architects or city planners to take virtual tours and identify areas for development, and also holds potential for real estate companies, restaurants, delivery services, and many other businesses.
