(KPL) Houaphanh provincial authorities have authorized a local company to invest in the construction of three small-scaled hydropower plants on Nam Tab River with a combined investment of US$34 million.
A 50-year concession agreement for the hydropower projects has been recently signed in Houaphanh Province.
Signatories to the document were Deputy Head of Houaphanh Provincial Planning and Investment Department Khonethong Manyvone, Samtay District Chief Linthong Duangchansouk and Director of Hydropower Limited Company, Mr Thavone Artsamoud in the witnesses of relevant officials.
The hydropower projects will be built in Nongxay, Nonghed and Sob Tieng villages in Xamtay district with an aim to boost economic growth and poverty reduction in the localities.
