(KPL) The Lao Writers’ Association under the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, in cooperation with the Singaporean Embassy to Laos, is going to launch the Lao version of From Third World to First: The Singapore Story 1965-2000 by late Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew.

The publication of the book in Lao language represents the cooperation between the Lao Writers’ Association and the Singaporean Embassy to Laos.

The 1066-page book is expected to be launched to the public by the end of this week. At the moment, no price of the book has been revealed to the public, but it is expected that the book will be available at an affordable price.

The remarkable inside story of nation building in the 20th century is offered by the architect of Singapore's amazing economic miracle. Kuan Yew takes a hard look at the burgeoning economic and political might of China and its portents for the future.

Few gave tiny Singapore much chance of survival when it was granted independence in 1965. How is it, then, that today the former British colonial trading post is a thriving Asian metropolis with not only the world's number one airline, best airport, and busiest port of trade, but also the world's fourth-highest per capita real income?

The story of that transformation is told here by Singapore's charismatic, controversial founding father, Lee Kuan Yew.
